HomeWhy plant a church in Manila?Apr 17, 2008
The following reasons why we have decided to plant a church in Manila:
1.Biblically when Paul did his mission work he was always concentrating his energies, efforts and resources in key cities during his time examples are Corinthians, Rome, Ephesians, Philippi and Colosse.

2.Even in the book of Revelation the 7 churches mentioned by the Lord Jesus where churches of mega cities.

3.Practically, planting churches in cities, especially growing cities have geographical, political, economic, educational and spiritual strategic significance since it is where a large number of people come in and out for personal progress. Not only that, it is compose of people with different social status and cultures. Thus, making the effort and financing for church planting more efficient and effective.

4.Major movements happen in cities.

5.The viability of planting churches in cities, their opportunity and ability to reproduce churches ,with a well supported, well trained and well planned team, is higher because of reason number 3.

With prayer and evaluation, we saw it fit that Ortigas Manila, qualifies the biblical and strategic approach of starting a viable church that we want to establish in planting churches.

BOND Department Guidelines for SWC

Offer Food and Drinks
-prepare food (cookies, sandwiches, finger food, etc), candies or drinks as people come into the SWC venue. Food will keep people in the lobby for a few minutes for fellowship.

Ambience
- have music playing when people enter your SWC venue. Music relaxes people. Set an atmosphere that is alive, happy and contagious with joy before the service starts. One way to do this is through music.

Ushering, Smiles and Greetings
- These are the first smiles people will encounter as they go to SWC. Greeters stand in parking lots or the entrance, casually greeting people as they approach the building. Hosts are stationed at the information table. They personally escort people to where they need to go. Ushers greet people inside the service, pass out programs, assist in special situations and delivers the offering basket to the counter’s corner. Ushers are to dress modestly, tidy and prepared with good breath and a smile. **make sure to have USHERS and GREETERS for the Children -- to lead to His Lambs Children's Church and also Youth GREETERS ... :-)

Giveaways/ freebees
- prepare giveaways for new comers. They will exchange their filled GMS for a token. This will give us access to follow them up [using the data base of names and info].

Service Tables
- a book table is stationed at the entrance. This is where we have registrations, materials for sale and serves as an information table too. Station a person that can answer to basic queries people may ask.

People Counters
- Assign a person to do the head count of the people who attends. This is to be done discreetly. For large SWCs, use a counter. Always be aware of MEN and WOMEN and YOUTH and CHILDREN's head counting.

Lord’s Table/ Communion
- Celebrated the Lord’s Table quarterly. Assign a group of people to prepare the elements (grape juice and small pieces of crackers) for the Lord’s Table. See to it that what is prepared will be enough for all the Sunday goers. Small group leaders are to serve during the communion time.

Welcome
- This is done hand in hand with the program director. Assign a suitable person to do the welcome during the celebration. This person should be briefed on what to do by the director.

Consolidation/ Follow-up
- All small group leaders should be equipped to consolidate people during altar calls.
Guidelines:
1. Have a fresh breath.
2. Listen to the message of the preacher and to what call he
Is asking people to respond to.
3. Ministry is done to the same sex: man to man, woman to
Woman. [in the context of Networkings]
4. As people responds through a raised hand, standing or goes
To the altar, approach the person and start praying
For the person.
5. It would help if you ask specifically, what he wants to bring
To the Lord.
6. Be sensitive to the leading or prompting of the Holy Spirit.
7. After prayer, when able, ask the person you prayed for to
Fill our a GMS and check his/her response on the
Space provided.
- All filled up GMS has to be submitted to the book table after the celebration for follow- up with in 48 hours.
- All filled up GMS must be DATA entered in a DATA base or Summary Form using excel and be kept for future use.
